If you have financial aid (Hope, loans, grants, scholarships) and you would like to continue receiving your aid while you are participating in a study abroad program, you must have a Verification of Study Abroad Program Participation Form completed on your behalf by the Office of International Education (OIE). You may request a Verification of Study Abroad Program Participation form by sending e-mail message to study.abroad@gatech.edu or you may make the request in person at OIE (Savant Building, Suite 211, 631 Cherry Street, Atlanta, GA 30332-0284, Telephone: (404) 894-7475, Fax number: (404) 894-9682).

If you choose to request a Verification form by e-mail, please include the following information:

1. Name
2. Study abroad program in which you will participate (if participating in Oxford, include which tour you will take)
3. Student i.d. #
4. GT Box
5. Are you an in-state or out-of-state student?
6. Are you a graduate or an undergraduate student?
7. Number of credit hours you will take as part of the program

When OIE begins processing the forms in mid-January, normal processing time will be 3-5 business days. The original Verification form will be sent directly to Financial Aid. A copy of the form will be mailed to your GT box for your records.
